The Mega Millions lottery has drawn the winning numbers for Tuesday’s estimated $1.1 billion jackpot, making it one of the largest prizes in the lottery’s history.
The drawn numbers for the jackpot are 8, 24, 30, 45, 61, with a gold Mega Ball of 12.
If someone wins the grand prize, it could become the fourth-largest prize ever awarded in Mega Millions history.
The potential jackpot winner has the option to receive the prize in annual payments over 29 years or choose a lump-sum option estimated at $550.2 million, according to Mega Millions.
The jackpot has surpassed $1 billion because no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Friday night. This forthcoming Tuesday’s drawing will be the 30th since the big stake was last won in New York on April 18, as revealed by Super Millions.
Despite no one winning the jackpot on Friday’s drawing, there were significant winners, including one ticket sold in Pennsylvania that won $5 million by matching the first five numbers and using the optional Megaplier, available in most states for an additional $1.
Additionally, four tickets sold in Arizona, California, New York, and Pennsylvania matched the first five numbers, winning $1 million each.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever awarded was $1.537 billion, won in South Carolina in 2018. A $1.348 billion ticket was sold in Maine in January, followed by a $1.337 billion award won in July.
The fourth-highest prize on Mega Millions‘ list, before Tuesday night’s drawing, is a $1.05 billion jackpot won by a ticket sold in Michigan in 2021.
Tuesday’s Uber Millions drawing for the gigantic award happened after a Powerball ticket sold at an odds and ends shop in Los Angeles matched all numbers, winning a $1.08 billion award, which stands as the third-largest Powerball jackpot.
