Diane Kruger To Be Feted At Zurich
Diane Kruger is set to be honored with the prestigious Zurich Golden Eye Award at the upcoming edition of the film festival, taking place from September 28 to October 8. On October 2, Kruger will accept the award and also present her latest movie, “Visions,” directed by French filmmaker Yann Gozlan. In the film, Kruger portrays a married airline captain whose life takes an unexpected turn when she reunites with a former lover. Previous recipients of the Zurich Golden Eye Award include renowned actors like Eddie Redmayne, Iris Berben, Kristen Stewart, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Malkovich, Helen Hunt, and Olivia Colman. Expressing her gratitude, Kruger stated, “Thank you, Zurich Film Festival, for this wonderful recognition. I feel honored and proud to join the esteemed list of past honorees. Asian Achievers Awards Sets Shortlist
The nominees for the Asian Achievers Awards have been unveiled, featuring remarkable individuals like Shubham Saraf, known for his role in the BBC One drama “A Suitable Boy.” The shortlist also includes Anwar Uddin MBE, the trailblazing first British-Bangladeshi player in English football, and Bina Mehta, who made history as the first woman Chair of KPMG UK in its 150-year existence. ZEE5 Global, the South Asian content streaming platform, has experienced a significant increase in viewership in the U.S., with a 35% year-on-year growth. As the largest service catering to the South Asian diaspora in the country, ZEE5 Global does not disclose specific subscriber numbers. Today, the platform released various insights, highlighting drama and comedy as the top genres driving the viewing surge. Show, with a surprising 38% ascent, represented 60% of all perspectives in the initial two fourth of 2023, because of well known films like “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan,” “Uunchai,” “Salaam Venky,” and original series such as “Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai,” “Tarla,” and “Ayali.” Thrillers and family dramas also garnered significant favor. Additionally, comedy witnessed a remarkable 92% increase in views, attributed to titles like “Kanjoos Makhichoos” and “United Kachche.”
‘Ferrari’ Casting Director Signs With Stacey Castro Media
Massimo Appolloni, the BAFTA-nominated casting director known for his work with Ferrari, has joined Stacey Castro Media for global representation. Appolloni, a rising talent, has collaborated extensively with renowned Italian director Paolo Sorrentino, who played a significant role in Appolloni’s career. Sorrentino is also signed with Stacey Castro.
