Gal Gadot Clarifies Her Future as Wonder Woman

The superhero’s third film was previously rumored to have been cancelled.

The actor first appeared as Diana Prince in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice in 2016 and later starred in the first standalone Wonder Woman movie the following year.

The film set a record, earning $822.8 million at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing film by a female director at the time, a record later surpassed by Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie.

Chief Patty Jenkins got back to rudder Marvel Lady 1984, delivered in December 2020, and was purportedly fostering a treatment for a third film.

Last year, James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed co-chairs of DC Studios to reboot the DC extended universe.

Following this, it was announced that Patty would be stepping away from Wonder Woman 3, as the script did not align with the studio’s new direction for the DCEU. However, in a recent interview, the star revealed new plans for her to reprise the role.

“I love portraying Wonder Woman,” she told Comicbook.com. “From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we will foster a Miracle Lady 3 together.”

Gal Gadot, known for her role as Wonder Woman, responded to rumors about the third movie, clarifying on Twitter that she never walked away from the project. She expressed her willingness to consider any opportunities but acknowledged the complexities due to ongoing changes at DC. Regarding the rebooted cinematic universe, David Corenswet was announced as the new Superman, succeeding Henry Cavill, who was dropped after a cameo in the 2022 movie Black Adam. Additionally, Rachel Brosnahan from The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel is set to join as Lois Lane, replacing Amy Adams.
